A captive agent has one company's products to offer, so every client is made to fit them. We are appointed with multiple carriers, which means underwriting decides the placement rather than inventory. When a client is declined in one place, there is usually another that says yes.
No insurance background is required and no degree is required. We cover the cost of the licensing course.
New agents begin in a scheduled training class alongside other new hires, not with a login and a wish of good luck. Classes start every two weeks and each one is capped so that everyone in the room gets attention.
The work is commission-based and it is demanding. We say that plainly in every posting, because the people who are right for it are not discouraged by hearing it.
